Those looking for the dimunition of international trade and investment may get their wish (in a round-a-bout way) if the trends continue:

Cement companies Holcim and Lafarge on Monday will sign agreements with Venezuela to hand over shares of their local units, the government said, as part of a nationalization ordered by President Hugo Chavez.

The experiment of Venezuela will be an interesting site in a few years time. By the time the country is in the bin the mad barking will of course be all about the "West" refusing to invest in that particular country. I wonder why there will be reticence on behalf of the "West" when that day comes?
